QUILT MARKET!

Quilt Market seemed to fly by! It was a really good show and as always it was fun to see friends. This trip I had the pleasure of sharing a hotel room with Carrie Nelson (Miss Rosie). Those of you who know Carrie can only imagine how fun that was! She's a hoot and she has really nice friends. We went to dinner one night with her friend Monique Dillard and three of Monique's helpers. What a great group of ladies! Hey Joyce - new BFF! We had a fantastic dinner at Sonoma Grill - great food! Monique is a fabulous quilt designer and also the inventor of a great tool, a ruler, that I'm sure will make me a better quilter. The rulers are called, Fit to be Geese, Mini Fit to be Geese and Fit to be Square. They work great. Check out her website at Open Gate Quilts

This Market was one of my luckiest too! I was the winner of a raffle that was too good to be true! I won the hand hooked Polly Minick rug above! Polly is a sweet lady and she was missed, but I got to have a booth right next to her sister Laurie, ANOTHER fabulous quilt designer!

Michelle Hayden gave me the sweetest little birdie pressing pal. It's made out of wood and she made it herself! What talent and generosity!

I'm very excited about my new Christmas line that just came out with Moda - Holly Jolly Snowmen. My friend Barbara Cherniwchan made three great patterns for the line. One pattern uses the panel and it turned out darling. You can check it out at Moda. She's already working on patterns for the next line and I was lucky enough to check out her sketchbook with all of her great ideas - she's very prolific!

Well, it's back to unpacking and finishing up some orders!

It was great meeting you at Market. Michelle and I had a terrific time. I love my little pressing pal, too! Nothing beats a homemade gift. Michelle is very talented and generous. I feel lucky to have her as my BFF.
Happy Stitches,
Melody
