SPELL IT WITH FABRIC
My letter is E for EMBROIDERY
I knew I wanted to incorporate embroidery and a little appliqué with my letter. What else starts with the letter E? Eggs of course! My E features an embroidered momma bird on branches watching over her nest of eggs. I added a couple of borders to make it fit in a standard frame. The fabric is from the line Piecemakers which is available now at your local quilt shop!

Questions and Answers...
My letter is.... E
What are your initials? KLS
My favorite quilt block.......... probably the Bear Paw. I love blocks with points.
My favorite memory about school.... Christmas vacations!
My favorite book, movie or television show starting with your letter...... Movie - E.T.
I love quilting because............I love being creative and spending time with my quilting friends.
What if everyday was a holiday?...... Everyday is a holiday in my world!
Is there an object, tool or anything that you cannot work without? Erasers for sure. I even give them a special place on my desk
Do you have a quote or motto you live ( or work) by? Reach for the stars / It is what it is / and my favorite..... Wag more bark less (I've been looking for this bumper sticker forever)
Something I like...... wool pincushions, good movies, a good glass of red wine, a fire in the fireplace, a heated mattress pad in winter, old silver thimbles, huge trees, listening to the waves on the beach, all types of adhesives (tapes and glues - LOVE THEM).
Somewhere I have been...... The summer between 4th and 5th grades my family took a 2 month road trip across the U.S. From Oregon to Rhode Island, Maine to Florida to L.A. and somehow hitting most of the states along the way. I think my dad drove out of his way just to say we were in another state! We camped in our tent trailer at KOA campgrounds (Florida in July - not a good idea). Mom cooked on a camp stove every night. My sisters and I took turns sitting in the middle of the back seat. I remember we sang songs from musicals like Camelot and Oklahoma during the drives.
Now I have an aversion to long road trips, but I've been to France, Germany, Austria, and Belgium. A long flight is better than a long car ride in my book!
Somewhere I want to go...... Italy, Ireland, Scotland, England
Someone I know.......... Does this mean someone famous? hmmmm..... my sister Bonnie (Sullivan - All Through the Night) is kind of famous : ) If I mention Bonnie I need to mention my other sister too. She taught middle school for 30 years and now volunteers for the Red Cross - pretty cool lady.
The winner of the drawing is Karen in Breezy Point! Thank you to everyone who left a comment!
