WELCOME! Thanks so much for "visiting" me in Portland, Oregon.
Portland (population just under 600,000) is known as the City of Roses. The unofficial motto is "KEEP PORTLAND WEIRD". I have to admit it can be a little weird around here, but it keeps things interesting.
One of the things I love about this area are the eateries! I'm not a huge lover of chicken wings, but the chicken wings at Pok Pok are to die for! They must make their chickens do bench presses because they are loaded with meat and the flavor is amazing!

Every year Portland celebrates with it's famous Rose Festival. The highlight of which is the Grand Floral Parade. The floats are covered with thousands of roses. This year marked the parade's 100th year! We used to take the kids down to watch the parade when they were lithe - very sweet memories.

Portland has great weather for growing beautiful roses. We have a gorgeous International Rose Test Garden filled with 7,000 rose plants and over 500 different varieties. I can still smell them! ahhh....

If you visit on a weekend you must go to the Saturday Market (Saturday & Sundays March - December). This weekly gathering, along the Willamette River, of artisans, musicians, food carts and more started in 1974 and is currently the largest continually operating outdoor arts and crafts market in the states.

«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 400 of 518 Newer› Newest»Never been to Portland, however I am quite jealous of the rain you guys get in the Pacific northwest. It allows you to have great gardens - something that I am trying to achieve. But living in Atlanta, and the drought we have been having makes it quite a challenge.
Would love to win - thanks for offering this to us
I would absolutely love Portland's craft market! And those waffles look pretty good too. Thanks for the chance to win some of your awesome fabrics.
I prefer the waffles of your hometown. Yummy!
Thanks for a chance in this giveaway.
I'm an Oregonian also, from the extreme eastern side.
Thanks for the chance to win - as usual, beautiful fabrics!
Love table runners. Yours is exceptional! Thank you for sharing.
I love your designs. Thanks for the free pattern and give-aways.
BTW, your are right about the "unofficial" motto of Portland. I heard yesterday that a school principal in the Portland area has out-lawed p-nut butter and jelly sandwiches, as she called them "racist." I couldn't follow her logic, but it wasn't because of p-nut allergies.
Thanks for sharing your hometown and the tablerunner applique - beautiful!! Please enter my name in the draw... the 15th is my son's birthday, maybe I'll be lucky!!
I love table runners! Yours is exceptional. Thank you for sharing.

Love how the applique really perks up the blocks! Sorry to hear that your kids are no longer lithe! VBG!! I had to check out the waffles. They look absolutely wonderful. Sigh! Here in central Nebraska, we just don't have things like that; just wide open spaces. I do love it, though.
